I’m a custom knife maker in the United States based in Northern California. What started as a simple idea—making hunting knives for my kids—quickly turned into something much bigger. More than a decade later, that small project has grown into a lasting passion for crafting functional, high‑quality knives.

My work focuses on classic knife styles such as drop points, hunters, kitchen knives, filet knives, and of course Bowies. I tend to favor traditional handle materials like hardwood, brass, and stainless steel, creating knives that feel timeless both in the hand and in appearance. Each knife is handmade in my shop using quality steels and traditional materials. Every piece is shaped, ground, finished, and sharpened by hand.

Staniar Custom Knives is a full‑service American knife making and sharpening shop. Having spent much of my life hunting, trapping, and fishing, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the form and function of a well‑made knife. Every knife I build is designed first as a working field knife—something dependable that can be used and trusted in the outdoors—while also being crafted with the quality and attention to detail worthy of a collector’s display.

I build knives for individual customers as well as larger corporate and group orders, and I take pride in creating pieces that will be used, appreciated, and passed down for years to come.
